Field Notes & Observation
1 hour of authentic gentle wave sounds, recorded on a quiet little beach on Gillinge, a small island in the Stockholm Archipelago, Sweden (that has only two year-round residents!)
My initial plan was actually to record at another location on the island, but on my way there (4 AM, alone in the forest) I heard the angry squeal of a wild boar, which motivated a hasty retreat and a last-minute change of plans.
I set up my gear and started recording at around 5 AM on this peaceful summer morning. Gentle waves roll onto the shore while the archipelago slowly wakes up. From time to time, you can hear a protective swallow (or is it maybe a little ringed plover?) calling as it flies nearby.
My initial plan was actually to record at another location on the island, but on my way there (4 AM, alone in the forest) I heard the angry squeal of a wild boar, which motivated a hasty retreat and a last-minute change of plans. This quiet beach felt much more welcoming!
